Solar Mantri shows you your own electricity data: what your JVVNL smart meter recorded, what your rooftop solar generated, and when the power was out. To do that it has to hold that data on your behalf. This page says exactly what it holds, why, and how to get rid of it.
The service is run by Khushal Saraswat, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Contact: khusa71@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your account — email address, and a password hash if you signed up with a password. If you used Google sign-in, Google tells us your email address and nothing else.
- Your meter identity — the JVVNL K-number you enter.
- Provider credentials — if you connect a Selec Solar inverter, the email and password for that account. They are stored encrypted, used only to fetch your generation data, and never shown back to you or to anyone else.
- Meter and solar readings — half-hourly and daily consumption, solar generation, meter export, bill amounts, power-cut times, and your plant's location and system size as reported by your solar provider.
There is no analytics or tracking SDK in the web app. We do not collect your contacts, your location from your device, or anything about other apps.
Why we collect it
Only to show it back to you. Readings are fetched from JVVNL and Selec on a schedule (roughly every 6 hours) and when you press refresh, then rendered as the charts and figures you see when you sign in. We do not sell data, and we do not share it with advertisers, brokers or anyone else for their own purposes.
Who else sees it
- Supabase hosts the database and handles sign-in. Your data lives there.
- Vercel serves this website and sees the usual web-server request logs.
- JVVNL and Selec Solar are where the readings come from; we contact them as you.
- Open-Meteo receives your solar plant's latitude and longitude, from your browser, to look up historical sunlight for the performance chart. No account details go with it.
- Google handles sign-in if you choose "Continue with Google".
- Google AdMob shows a banner ad in the Android app and may use your device's advertising ID for that. The website has no ads. None of your meter or solar data is passed to AdMob.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists — the history is the product. When you delete your account, it goes with it, immediately and in full.
Your choices
- Delete everything. Settings → Delete account, in the app or on the website, removes your login and all of the data listed above. There is also a web form-free route if you cannot sign in.
- Disconnect solar only. Settings → Rooftop solar → Remove deletes the stored Selec credentials.
- Ask us anything else. Email khusa71@gmail.com for a copy of your data, a correction, or a question about this page.
Security, honestly stated
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and every table is protected by row-level security, so one account cannot read another's. Provider passwords are held encrypted rather than in plain text. That said, this is a small independent service, not a bank — do not reuse an important password for your Selec account.
Children
Solar Mantri is for the person who pays an electricity bill. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
